About AdA Underwriters
AdA Underwriters was established in May 2023, by Natasha, James and Paddy with an ambition to set up a Specialty Syndicate within Lloyd’s under the Probitas Managing Agency.
Lloyd’s approved the launch of the AdA Special Purpose Arrangement (SPA) Syndicate 2024 for the 2024 year of account which is separately capitalised from the main Probitas Syndicate 1492.
Our Vision
To be a leading Lloyd’s and Regional Marine & Specialty Insurer, where customer outcomes are at the heart of every decision.
To provide solutions tailored to individual clients’ needs with products that are transparent and resilient.
To empower Underwriters who value long term relationships with Clients and Brokers, built on a foundation of trust and excellence.

Our Setup
AdA is a regional operation with Underwriters based in London, Manchester & Birmingham. We are a separate business unit, formed in 2023, within the Probitas Managing Agency. All our staff are employed by AdA Underwriters Ltd but are seconded to Probitas Managing Agency to allow them to underwrite the AdA portfolio which is then reinsured into Syndicate 2024.

Our Products
Cargo
Our Underwriters are empowered to write a broad cargo portfolio offering tailored solutions to our clients in the Regions and in the London market. The Team work seamlessly to provide tailored products to match our clients global needs.
Aviation
The AdA Aviation Team provides a comprehensive suite of insurance solutions to meet the complex requirements of the aerospace industry. These solutions provide protection for all risks (including war) of physical damage to insured assets and liabilities to passengers and third parties. The Team underwrites a global portfolio of risks, covering large multinational airlines, airports and manufacturers to smaller general aviation fixed and rotor wing craft and drones.
Project Cargo
Our Underwriters offer insurance for complex project cargo, giving transportation cover for clients involved in the construction of manufacturing and infrastructure developments. These projects are often logistically complex and involve the transportation of fragile, prototypical or abnormal loads from various sources. Coverage includes physical damage, but cover can be extended to include Delay in Start-Up.
Energy
The AdA Energy Team is a market leader focusing on Upstream and Midstream Energy. The portfolio includes physical damage, business interruption and control of well insurance for Independent operators, National Oil Companies and Majors. The Team use their technical capabilities to support their clients on the path to carbon neutrality, whilst ensuring that support is maintained for today’s energy security. AdA works in conjunction with Solomon, who are a global leader in benchmarking and consulting, to rate the carbon efficiency of all our clients where applicable.
Marine & Energy Liability
The AdA Team ensures a broad mixture of clients in the maritime & energy sectors. Our Underwriters are recognised market leaders in both onshore and offshore activities with a broad appetite ranging from contractors performing drilling, completion and seismic activities to operators of all scales and complexities. We participate on a broad variety of marine liability programs, including charterers’ liability, marine general liability, traders’ liability, logistics and poolable and non-poolable P&I programs.
Ports and Terminals
This account insures Ports and Terminals for their liabilities, physical damage and business interruption to their marine property, cargo handling equipment and small harbour craft. Target insureds vary in scale and include Bulk Cargoes, Container Terminals, Port Authorities, River Terminals and smaller specialist operators.
Claims Leadership
The Claims Team are integral to the AdA product offerings ensuring Clients are supported during their moments of need. Working closely with the Underwriting Teams to ensure the efficacy of our policies.
Risk Engineering
The development of the inhouse Engineering Team has provided our Underwriters with the expertise required to understand some of the more technical complexities of our clients’ assets. This allows us to work closely with our clients so that together we can enhance our product offering building unique solutions tailored to their individual needs.
